There’s nothing like burning love letters with friends. You should try it sometime.
Amanda and I want to write you a love letter. In fact we want to write everyone a love letter, send love out into the world in mass. Every single one will be unique, written just for the individual it is intended for. And sometimes love sparks better when you can see the object of your affection, so we can also send you a postcard with a photo from one of our photo shoots for the project. So help us create some lovely pieces of correspondence.
Amanda and I started a new Kickstarter project today. Putting love into words, we want to write love letters to as many people as possible. I hope to have the challenging task of writing hundreds of letters, each one a unique look at love.
And while words move us and remind us of love, the eye is the window to the heart, so I plan to photograph different scenes from a few of the letters with the help of Amanda (pictured above) and hopefully a few others. These photos will be printed on postcards that will be sent out bearing love letters as well.
This isn’t just about us though. We want to hear from you. We want to hear about your love, your loss, and your stories of the things that you wish for.
Approximately 54 hours left to donate for some sticker fueled joy over on my Kickstarter project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tododelsur/international-sticker-graffiti
I’m not sure what I’m most excited about, but the project being 1,600% funded is definitely near the top of the list (the goal was $5 so it wasn’t hard to go over by that much, but I’m still enamored by it). Another thing at the top of the list is the variety of places these little photographic wonders are going to travel to:
Auckland, New Zealand
Belfast, Northern Ireland
Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.
There’s more to that list, and hopefully it’ll grow by Sunday. I love that I can do something with people in places I may never see, and then continue to share it with even more people. The backers for the project will send photos of themselves with their rewards, and as I receive them i’ll post them to a Tumblr page dedicated to the project. So if you’d like to be a part, times running out. Click the link at the top of this post and stock up on some stickers!
To be a guy that missed out on Polaroid film when it was still being produced, I seem to find a good bit of it. This is from the third pack of it I managed to get from a friend who just happened to have left the stuff sitting in his garage for years. I now love forgetful people.
In other news, I’ve got a Kickstarter project that started up last night that I’d love for you all to check out. I’m planning to create a mobile art exhibit full of Polaroids, Impossible project’s film, and Fujifilm’s instant film. Here’s the link, and thanks for any support: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tododelsur/art-from-relics-a-mobile-photography-exhibit
